Bison Farm - Cabin "Cielo"

Every gate that you open during your visit here, must be closed by you the moment that you pass through that gate. Never leave a gate open that you unlatched. This is critical. We have Great Pyrenees dogs working on the farm that are not contained. They will sometimes accompany you back to the cabin to say hi, especially if you have a dog. They are super friendly to people and dogs, and not dangerous in any way. Please help us keep them safe. None of your guest visitors, should you have any, are allowed to drive past the front gate. If you have guests you must come to the front gate to pick them up, and you must accompany guests on the property at all times. Air conditioning is not to be left on with the door or windows open, nor when leaving the cabin. The systems work very quickly to cool down the cabin upon return. You are going to be staying on an active commercial bison farm that participates in agritourism under Virginia law, which provides the following legal warning: Under Virginia law, there is no liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity.

Please feel free to walk around the zones outside of the fencing where your cabin is located. Note that all fences that you see are for containing bison inside their pastures, and your cabin is outside the pasture fencing. If you want to walk around the farm lanes, you are welcome to do that, as long as you do not open and pass through any closed gates other than the Green cabin gate with the cattle guard that you passed through to get to your cabin. You will find a green button to push manually mounted to a fence poste near that gate that will open that gate. It will close automatically after you have passed through it. In order to find the bison herds and view them, please visit the Bison Store anytime between 9am and 5pm. The store is open to cabin guests every day during these hours, by using the yellow call box next to the store door that rings the radios like a doorbell. The crew will give you a map of the farm and send you in the right direction.
